Getting Started with Apply Aide

Welcome to Apply Aide — the privacy-first browser extension designed to help you apply to jobs 10x faster using your own AI provider keys.

With Apply Aide, you keep full ownership of your data. Your API keys, resume text, and knowledge base remain 100% in your local browser storage.

⚡ Quickstart Guide (3 Steps)

Step 1: Install the Browser Extension

Download and install Apply Aide on your favorite browser:

• Chrome / Edge / Brave: Install via Chrome Web Store
• Firefox: Install via Firefox Add-ons (AMO)

Step 2: Configure Your AI Provider Key (BYOK)

Apply Aide uses a Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) architecture:

1. Click the Apply Aide icon in your extension bar or press Ctrl+Shift+E (Cmd+Shift+E on Mac) to open the side panel.
2. Go to Settings (⋮ > Settings).
3. Choose your preferred AI Provider:

- OpenAI (gpt-4o, gpt-4o-mini) - Anthropic (claude-3-5-sonnet, claude-3-haiku) - Google Gemini (gemini-1.5-pro, gemini-1.5-flash) - DeepSeek (deepseek-chat, deepseek-coder) - OpenRouter (Universal API gateway)

1. Enter your API key and click Save Key.

Step 3: Add Your Resume & Knowledge Base Context

1. Navigate to the Knowledge Base (KB) tab in Apply Aide.
2. Paste your plain text resume or work history summary.
3. Add custom answers to common job application questions (e.g. Work Authorization, Notice Period, LinkedIn URL, Portfolio link).

You're all set! Now you can autofill forms and draft custom cold emails directly on any job portal.
